A fabulous experience for navigating and sailing, more direct contact with other cultures on a truly local basis, and bonding with her peers were great ways for Rachel to feel very competent and confident about new adventures outside her usual world.

You can't get enough of night sailing. You left St Kitts last night at 10:00. You and two crewmates take your turn at watch on deck with your Captain. You harness up and snap your safety line securely onto the jack line. Antigua is your destination, and it's still far away. You're logging your coordinates every half hour, then radioing your exact position to the other boats in the fleet. The sky is cloudless and packed with shimmering stars. It's been a long night, but as the sun hovers slightly below the horizon, you wish it wouldn't end just yet.

New Delta Advanced program!
For older students! Sail, Explore & Challenge yourself like never before, navigating the lush islands of Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia! Read more about Delta Advanced or call us at 800-321-0994 to hear more.

The Delta teen sailing adventure camps are experiences you'll never forget. The Leeward and Windward Islands offer the most culturally diverse destinations we visit, and with longer sails between islands including an overnight passage - you'll feel like an intrepid ocean explorer. This is real "blue water" cruising, and as you roam these islands the water reaches a deep navy hue. The places you'll sail to are historically rich in culture and diversity. St. Barths has all the glamour of the French Riviera as the holiday hotspot of the Hollywood set. Sleepy Statia boasts lush rainforest, incredible diving and snorkeling, and a dormant volcano. Delta Advanced visits the tropical jewels of Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia, boasting breathtaking rainforests and topography along with a drive-thru volcano and cascading waterfalls. In fact, every destination offers something unique and unforgettable. Even if you arrive as a complete beginner, you'll head home from Delta feeling like a seasoned sailor and explorer.

Itinerary
There's nothing between the Leeward Islands and the west coast of Africa but the Atlantic Ocean, so the trade winds blow a little stronger than in the British Virgin Islands. A mix of cultures has blown across the Atlantic, too, and through our cultural exchange projects we'll sample the sights, sounds, and tastes they've created. Our itinerary includes Antigua, Ile Fourche, Nevis, Saba, St. Barths, St. Kitts, St. Martin/Sint Maarten, Statia and Montserrat. Delta 1 starts and ends in St. Martin, while Delta 2 is a one-way voyage between St. Martin and Antigua.  And Delta Advanced, for older students, sails further south from Antigua to St. Lucia.  See a sample Itinerary

Learning
Sail Caribbean provides a unique setting - a boat that is your home for 14 or 17 days and a crew made up of students just like you, with a thirst for adventure and a love for being in and on the water. You take charge with the guidance and instruction from our staff, and learn as individuals and as a team to take on the responsibilities that come with sailing a 50' yacht. The challenges are many and we help you meet them. Whether you're reading charts, hauling in the sails, chopping vegetables, or just getting to know one another, there's a certain magic that takes place. You'll return home stronger and more confident than before. More about Experiential Learning

Activities
Adventurers don't sit still for very long, and there's so much to keep you up and running on the Delta Programs. On the water, you can take a kayak with a buddy and explore the coast. Hold on tight and wakeboard or water ski. And for those who can't stand anymore there's tubing! On land, we'll explore busy towns, remote villages, flat sandy islands, waterfalls and the craters of volcanoes that formed these islands.

Giving back to the islands that teach us so much, Delta teens also perform 10-15 hours of community service on Saba, St. Kitts and Nevis. Everyone enjoys the cultural exchange when our students lend a hand to local organizations and assist elementary and middle school students in the areas of team sports, swimming, snorkeling, and reading. We'll also help promote conservation with trail maintenance and beach cleanups. See more on Activities

Optional Courses
Expand your definition of island exploration by checking out the reefs surrounding these beautiful islands and participating in our Marine Biology seminars.
