Sailing and outdoor enthusiasts will love our Sailing & Watersports program! Based in Tortola, our BVI home, think of this as the "Greatest Hits of Sail Caribbean". Over the course of fourteen exhilarating days, you'll experience sailing, kayaking, waterskiing, snorkeling and much more. Wake up to a new adventure every day in one beautiful location after another. Balance learning, leadership, community service and activities over the course of the program. Alpha is fast-paced and spirited - a great introduction to the Sail Caribbean summer adventure experience!
Embark on a Multi-Sport Summer Adventure
The crystal clear waters of the British Virgin Islands make an inviting setting for Alpha. These summer adventures are ideally suited for those with limited time and who are anxious to make the most of their 14 days away from home. Every day features a two to four-hour sail. Alongside your crewmates, you'll learn from our experienced sailing staff, and watch your skill level and confidence on the water skyrocket. Experienced sailors can choose to sign up for the ASA Basic Keelboat Certification. Weigh anchor and give waterskiing a try. You can choose to sign up for our introductory Discover Scuba Diving course. Open Water scuba certification is also available along with Recreational Diving. Go on your first-ever moonlight snorkel. Embrace the Great Outdoors
The anchorages on our Alpha program are as varied as the activities. We hit some of the best spots in the BVI: volcanic islands, spectacular reefs, deserted cays. Top picks? Fabled Norman Island, steeped in history and pirate legends. And Virgin Gorda is a favorite stopover for its varied topography—mountainous in some areas, barren in others, and home to the famous Bitter End Yacht Club. Virgin Gorda is also where you'll find The Baths, a natural formation of pools and grottos created by giant boulders along the beach. Cameras were made for views like these. Do Good, Feel Good
Teamwork and camaraderie and fun are at the heart of Alpha summer adventures. And so is relaxing with crewmates after a vigorous day at sea. Take a gorgeous sunset sail, chill at a tropical beach party or turn up the heat at our chili cook-off and pita pizza contest! You'll also have an opportunity to earn five hours of community service performing such rewarding work as reef checks and beach clean ups. These projects are vital in protecting the delicate reef system of the British Virgin Islands. Alpha programs also include our own True Course personal-growth curriculum and Leave No Trace, an environmental awareness initiative.
