Sample Bravo Voyage Itinerary
Here's a taste of what life might be like when you join us on one of our Bravo teen sailing camps for a sailing, watersports & scuba adventure you will never forget! You'll learn sailing techniques, participate in a number of different watersports, and explore the beautiful islands of the BVI. Choose to get PADI Open Water certified or just try diving for the first time. Take an elective such as Lifeguarding or Basic Keelboat to enhance your Sail Caribbean experience. Everyone participates in community service projects performing coral reef health check-ups, trail and beach maintenance, and working side-by side with local youth, teaching them water safety, snorkeling techniques and sharing your new-found sailing knowledge.
Note: This is a sample 21-day itinerary. See sample 14-day versions at the bottom of this page. Actual program itineraries will vary based on weather, and BVI holidays, so as to create the best experience for each of our students.

Day 1 Road Town, Tortola
Get acquainted with our beautiful home base; meet your Captain and everyone on your program. You'll have your first boat meeting over a delicious dinner, and set the course for the rest of your adventures to come.
Day 2 The Bight, Norman Island
Your captain will lead you through some preparations and basic sailing lessons at the dock, before you de-dock for a first sail across the Sir Francis Drake Channel. You'll become familiar with the parts of the boat, take a turn behind the helm, and practice with the winches as you head toward Norman Island. Once anchored at The Bight, you will spend time getting to know your crewmates, and experience cooking your first meal onboard. The stars are so beautiful that you set up your hammock and decide to sleep on deck tonight.
Day 3 The Indians/Cane Garden Bay, Tortola
Look forward to snorkeling around these tall rocky outcroppings. Begin your Open Water Certification, or try watersports if you're not a diver. After the dive or snorkel you'll sail around the southwest tip of Tortola, have a lesson where you review Points-of-Sail, and take a stab at picking up your first mooring ball in beautiful Cane Garden Bay. This challenging sail will be complemented by beach activities, windsurfing, and group games. Your entire crew will gather in the afternoon and do a thorough beach clean-up community service project before returning to boats. During the evening your program will have its first fleet-wide night out with great local Caribbean music.
Day 4 Soper's Hole, Tortola
This is your first docking—a major event for the whole crew! After another fun-filled morning learning scuba or playing beach games, you'll learn the Dos and Don'ts of a successful docking, and go over knot tying techniques before pulling into your slips. You and your crew will then spend the day enjoying shore side facilities and shops full of real Caribbean flavor. You may even get brave and try a delicious local conch fritter. In the afternoon your captain will give a Leave No Trace seminar on the importance of using environmentally friendly products on board and a fleet social on the dock will round out the evening.
Day 5 Sandy Cay/Little Harbor, Jost Van Dyke
You'll feel like you are on Gilligan's Island during this beach day! Snorkel, kayak and hike around Sandy Cay to experience the beautiful panoramas. In the afternoon, you'll up anchor and practice Man-Over-Board drills while heading east to Jost Van Dyke. At Jost you'll try your luck at tubing before preparing a jerk chicken dinner for you and your crew. After dinner your fleet will head over to Sidney's Peace and Love for delicious dessert, and a little island flare.
Day 6 Monkey Point, Guana Island
After an amazing sail along the north side of Tortola where you practice tacking and jibing techniques, you'll arrive at beautiful Monkey Point, where divers set off for another underwater journey. Back at Monkey Point you can hike, snorkel, participate in several water sports, and watch the beautiful sunset over the Caribbean Sea. A quiet night on board will be perfect after a long day of sailing, scuba and water sports.
Day 7 Marina Cay
After a day of some exploratory sailing, arrive at the beautiful Marina Cay, a tiny island dotted with bungalows and the famous Pusser's restaurant. Snorkel or join our dive boat for a Discovery Scuba Diving experience! You'll spend the afternoon underwater exploring the vibrant sea life of the BVI. After dinner, enjoy homemade milkshakes atop Marina Cay and enjoy the 360-degree views of the surrounding islands.
Day 8 Nanny Cay
A sail through the Sir Francis Drake Channel brings you to the spot where you will complete your second docking. While sailing you will practice right-of-way rules and review winch safety before preparing the crew for a successful docking. A day of good shopping, great volleyball and swimming in the picturesque seaside pool will follow. Students getting their life guarding certification will practice safety techniques poolside, and hop in to demonstrate back boarding a victim in the water.
Day 9 Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
A challenging sail tests your navigation skills as you head to the mouth of the Gorda Sound. You'll anchor next to spectacular rocks and prepare for some excellent snorkeling. In the evening, you may even host one of the other crews in your fleet as you enjoy a jerk chicken dinner in the seclusion of this quiet anchorage.
Day 10 Vixen Point, Prickly Pear
A short sail into the Gorda Sound leaves the whole day open for water-skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, wake boarding, small boat sailing and racing, and beach volleyball. After you've tried your hand at a variety of water sports you'll wash up and head to shore for a big Barbecue, and an evening of dancing to the beats of our favorite DJ, Heavy B.
Day 11 Anegada
Few people have the chance to go to this unique island. The surrounding reef makes accurate piloting and navigation critical. You'll meet to discuss the obstacle course that surrounds Anegada's mooring field and set sail for your longest voyage yet. A safari style taxi will deliver you to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. There you will hunt for sea turtle nests, and explore a phenomenal reef. A fresh island-style dinner and a nap under the Sea Grape tree round out the day.
Day 12 Bitter End Yacht Club, Virgin Gorda
Get ready for Sail Caribbean race day! Your captain will give a lesson in race tactics and map out the course before you drop your mooring ball and race away. The first boat to enter the mooring field at The Bitter End and successfully pick up their ball wins! After an adrenaline pumped day of racing you'll head to the docks and spend the afternoon shopping, windsurfing, and small boat sailing. Basic Keelboat students will take advantage of Bitter End facilities and have a lesson on perfecting small boat maneuvering. In the evening you'll enjoy a movie on shore with your fleet.
Day 13 The Dogs/Leverick Bay, Virgin Gorda
The Dogs, a collection of tiny islands to the east of Virgin Gorda, boasts several diving/ snorkeling sites including The Chimney, Coral Gardens, and Bronco Billy's. Divers will begin their Advanced Open water Certification here, while others snorkel the amazing rock formations, vibrant corals, and may even free dive down to an airplane wreck! You'll spend the evening at Leverick Bay in the Gorda Sound where your fleet might decide to head to shore to watch the traditional Caribbean Jumbie stilt dancers.
Day 14 Village Cay, Tortola
You'll sail to Road Town, the capital of the BVI, where you'll complete another challenging docking. En route you will learn Bernoulli's principle of fluid pressure and begin to further understand the physics behind sailing. At Village Cay Marina you will have the chance to go shopping and exploring in Road Town, enjoy swimming in the dockside pool, and treat yourself to delicious homemade gelato. In the afternoon divers will have the chance to complete another crystal clear dive, while others will also have the opportunity to hike through the rainforest to the highest point in the BVI, or attend a Marine Biology seminar on the impact that humans have on the coral reefs.
Day 15 Little Harbor, Peter Island
A light sail across the channel over to Peter Island is followed by anchoring in a perfect tranquil harbor. After a busy day in town you will be happy to have fun-filled beach day where you will swim, start up a beach soccer game, and hike to the haunted mansion. This harbor is the ideal spot for dinner parties on your fleet and amazing stargazing under the Caribbean sky.
Day 16 Manchioneel Bay, Cooper Island
Tall palm trees are scattered along this white sand shoreline and a colorful outdoor restaurant, boutique, and Sail Caribbean dive stand, create a picture-perfect atmosphere. You'll have the chance to go on another diving expedition, where divers will work on a dive specialty certification, or snorkel to try and find the octopi and stingrays that hang out in the bay. After dinner, your crew might decide to return to shore to enjoy dessert at the Cooper Island Beach Club while a crew mate plays his acoustic guitar.
Day 17 Trellis Bay, Tortola
A nice sail from Cooper Island around to the north side of Beef Island sets a great scene to practice tacking, jibing, harnessing the wind, and changing course. You'll pick up a mooring ball in Trellis Bay and keep your eyes peeled for sea turtles as you head to shore. At Trellis you'll enjoy time on the beach browsing Aragorn's art and pottery studio, writing emails home at The Cyber Cafe, and marveling at the huge copper sculptures that line the shore. You'll have a quiet night on board with your crew, as an exciting day of sailing is in store for tomorrow.
Day 18 Pond Bay, Virgin Gorda
Let the festivities begin! An endless stretch of beach is the sight of our Sail Caribbean Olympics. Events such as the kayak pull, dizzy fender relay, and bury your captain set the stage for a little friendly competition between boats. This day always proves to be full of laughter and memories. To continue the fun you'll dress up your captain and mate as a celebrity couple for their theme staff meeting and hope to win for most creative ensemble.
Day 19 The Baths/Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor, Virgin Gorda
Wake up to the beautiful landscape of The Baths. You and your friends will test your sense of adventure as you dive off Jump Rock and explore the many tunnels and passageways created by the massive boulders that surround you. After the Baths you will head into the pleasant marina of Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor. You'll spend the evening at "The Mine Shaft" which offers a beautiful view, great food, and a breezy deck for dancing.
Day 20 Road Town, Tortola
Celebrate your last sail together by showing each other everything that you have learned and accomplished. Take one last turn behind the helm, prepare your crew for one last docking, and look forward to a night full of memories. You'll work with your crew to do one last cleaning of the boat.
