While sailing is the centerpiece of the Delta program, it's only the beginning. There's a full menu of activities to engage and challenge you on these teen summer adventure camps. With the warm turquoise waters, soft white beaches, and plenty to explore on the islands, your only problem will be deciding what to do first.
Watch from the surface as the undersea world shimmers with action. Stingrays, pufferfish, whooshing schools of silversides, and even the odd diving pelican make appearances.
Perfect for coastline exploration, or just paddle over to your friends on another boat in the fleet.
Waterskiing and more
Power up behind one of our ski boats on skis, wakeboard, kneeboard, or tube.
Our staff includes internationally ranked dinghy racers, crewmembers of historic tall ships, and experts in every phase of sailing and navigation. In our sailing clinics, they share their knowledge of weather, satellite navigation with a GPS, racing tactics, the Americas Cup, and night sailing.
Blue Water Sailing
At Sail Caribbean, blue water sailing is an integral part of our Down Island voyages. The phrase itself refers to long-distance sailing in the open ocean, sometimes out of sight of land. The Leeward and Windward Islands present the perfect opportunity to share our knowledge of safe passagemaking and build on your basic seamanship skills. We focus on equipment checks, communication with the fleet, weather updates, emergency procedures, and navigational skills. On our one overnight passage, it's an amazing experience to be standing watch as the sun rises on the distant horizon ahead. Making landfall may be your immediate reward, but the memory of the challenges you faced and the successes you had during this journey is sure to last. Learn more about Sailing & Seamanship...
On all Delta programs (5-8 hours)
By participating in outdoor team-building and leadership activities, you'll help introduce local youth to the concept of fair play, individual achievement, team roles, problem-solving techniques and the importance of rules. We'll also add some fun with beach volleyball, lacrosse, football, and other sports. You may even learn to play cricket! Working side-by-side with local children and teens enables you to share your hobbies and interests and learn theirs through cultural presentation exchanges, meals, and sports! You'll even have a chance to fill them in on tales of your Sail Caribbean adventure. You'll also help create and maintain ecological and historically significant trails in the rainforest on Saba, and do your part to restore coastal areas and parklands to pristine condition through our beach and trail sweeps. Explore the Islands
Since Columbus, explorers have been amazed by the natural beauty and variety of the Caribbean islands - you will be too. Hike through a rainforest or to the top of a volcano. Spy on exotic tropical birds and spot the rare greenback monkey. You'll see why the islanders cherish this part of the world and meet its unique characters, born of a melting pot of cultures. You'll see picturesque hilltop villages and lively towns, chat with friendly local people, and shop for local crafts and souvenirs.
There's no shortage of opportunity to meet new people. You'll be living on a sailboat with 11 other teens your own age, who quickly become family. We travel as a fleet, so when we go ashore you'll also meet the crews and staff from the other boats. During the day, the beach is alive with games and activity. As the sun goes down there could be a barbecue, we might hit a local restaurant for dinner, or dance at a beachside disco. To wrap it all up, your crew competes for honor and glory at the Sail Caribbean Olympics, a time-honored tradition that's a highlight of each voyage.
