Which Teen Summer Adventure is Right for You?
Find the summer adventure with the right mix of fun, learning and adventure.
Sail Caribbean offers you all this and more with nine different teen adventure programs in five different locations in the Caribbean – British Virgin Islands, Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, the Bahamas and Belize (Central America).
While all of our teen summer adventures offer personal growth, community service, new friendships, new skills, and lifelong memories, each has unique opportunities and challenges. On Sail Caribbean Voyages, learning to sail and live aboard boats are core components of the student experience, in addition to a specific activity or curriculum. On our Bahamas Tropical Marine Science for Divers program, life on a Bahamian island is the fundamental experience, with all the conservation and environmental awareness that demands, in addition to specific academic and service learning projects. And on Belize Reef & Rainforest Conservation for Divers, wildlife conservation is the focus - both on pristine coral reefs and in Belize's lush jungle.

On every program (except Bahamas and Belize) your home is on the water. You live aboard a modern 50' monohull yacht or 43-46' catamaran (on Foxtrot and Tango) with 11 other teens in your age group making new friends and forming a solid team. Your boat sails with others in a fleet that can range in size from 2 to 7 boats depending on the program. Your itinerary provides a balance of both small and large fleet experiences. There are plenty of full fleet sailing days, offering healthy competition and camaraderie, as well as independent days when the fleets break into smaller groups and the students determine their own schedule, activities, and anchorages.
On our Bahamas programs, your home is "on island". In dormitories at The Island School, you and your tripmates pull together as eco-conservationists. It quickly becomes second nature to conserve water and electricity in these beautiful island settings as you spend each day making valuable contributions to the local community. You'll work with local youth to help preserve the precious and delicate Bahamian ecosystem.
On our Belize program, you'll split your time between the WCS' Glover's Reef Marine Research Station (on an island off the coast) and rustic single-sex cabins and bungalows amidst the Belizean jungle's tropical wildlife on the mainland. While based on Glover's Reef, you'll tag and monitor endangered sea turtles, snorkel and dive colorful reefs, and explore the world-famous Blue Hole! While on the mainland, you'll explore the Maya Mountains and pyramids and go cave tubing!
Along the way you'll be learning – about sailing, about preserving the paradise you're visiting, and about yourself, your crewmates and your islander hosts. You'll gain confidence with each passing day. We'll be right along side you, helping you meet your goals. All of our teen adventure programs are created with safety at their foundation. We make it a point to combine fun with learning and responsibilities – a combination that has made Sail Caribbean a summer favorite for 28 years.
