This morning, we woke up in the mooring field at Marina Cay where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and then the divers got ready to go on a dive! The Sail Caribbean Divers’ dive boat picked up all the fun divers for a morning dive and everyone else executed their pre-departure checks before getting underway. We dropped the ball and began our sail over to Salt Island.

We ended our voyage to Salt by lunchtime to meet the returning morning divers. The DSD divers then went off afterwards to underwater explore themselves. Both groups of divers dove the RMS Rhône! The morning group was fortunate to spot sharks and dolphins! The afternoon group also saw a shark! It was a great day for sea life. All the non-divers and those that dove in the morning hiked up Salt Island to the peak overlooking the Rhône. We followed up our hike with a trash clean as we descended the mountain to the beach. The students collected about two full garbage bags of trash!

The crews followed up the eventful afternoon with some free time after the DSD divers returned to their home boats. The evening ended with the students sitting down to take their crew tests to see how much they had learned about sailing while on program with us so far.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
