We were up early with the sun so that the divers could be ready for some underwater adventuring! They are so eager and excited to finish up their open water certifications. The rest of the students came together on two of the three monohull vessels to sail over to Norman Island.

We all have our boat family that we spend our day to day with, learning and living, but it is wonderful to have the opportunity to sail with some of our fleet family, as well. We had such a great sail that we made it to the Pirate’s Bight, our destination for the day, early. The divers finished their morning dives around lunchtime, reconvened with their crews for a scrumptious meal to refuel, and then they wrapped up their contained water dives in the afternoon. The Discover Scuba divers also participated in a dive in the afternoon. All of the non-divers voyaged to a special snorkel site called the caves where they spent time exploring the interesting location.

Everyone was back and showered in time for a sunset hike up to the helipad above the bay. A huge tournament of Rock-Paper-Scissors, aka World’s Biggest Fan, a game of Birdie on a Perch and Oh Captain, My Captain were led by the staff mates of our fleet. It got pretty competitive and everyone had a ton of fun. We hiked back down, made some dinner, and had a quiet evening on board our boats.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
