Alpha 2 & Tango 2: Day 13 – The Baths

By wpdev July 25, 2021

Day 13

THE BATHS! Students continued to snooze while the staff woke up bright and early to motor the boats to The Baths, Virgin Gorda. The students made breakfast with a view of the giant boulders in the background. All of the boats snorkeled to shore and said hi to some fish on their way in.

Once ashore they hiked through the granite boulders and sheltered sea pools using a variety of ropes and ladders. At the end, the group was rewarded with a beautiful beach all to themselves! The morning was spent playing games on the beach, launching each other in the air and jumping off rocks into the turquoise water.

After such a special last day of the program, the students headed back home to Hodges Creek Marina. An SC tradition is to write letters to new friends that they are allowed to open on the airplane tomorrow. As the night got dark the docks were filled with laughs, hugs and a birthday cake on Kajsa.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
