Alpha 2 & Tango 2: Day 8 – Trellis Bay to Cooper Island

By wpdev July 20, 2021

Day 8

The fleet sailed from Trellis Bay to Cooper Island in the morning. It was a straight downwind sail. While underway, the students were taught safe sailing using preventors and heaving to on a catamaran.

After picking up a mooring ball, the students headed to shore to explore Cooper. They visited the dive shop, sipped cold drinks and bought ice cream before returning to the boats. Our dive students met up with Sail Caribbean Divers for their first lesson. All of the divers were able to start today, even our Discover Scuba Divers.

The rest of the students spent the afternoon tubing and sailing on the Colgate. When the divers returned, the boats had a little swim session before showering and making dinner. On Kajsa, the students decided to have breakfast for dinner!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
