Alpha 3 & Tango 3: Day 13 – The Baths

By wpdev August 8, 2021

Day 13

The final day of program is always spent at The Baths. Students had the morning to sleep in before making their way over to Virgin Gorda. Once ashore, everyone hiked through the granite boulders and sheltered sea pools using a variety of ropes and ladders. The end of the hike opened up to a gorgeous beach where the students swam around. Many could be seen being launched in the air by the staff.

Instead of hiking back, the fleet snorkeled to the beginning of the hike and had the opportunity to jump off one of the rocks.

Around 1 pm the fleet had their final sail back to Hodges Creek Marina. Once on docks, the students were busy finishing up friendship bracelets, writing airport letters and shopping in the dive shop. As the night got dark, the docks were filled with students jumping from boat to boat and soaking in the final moments with their new friends.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
