We awoke to another beautiful day at the Pirate’s Bight and enjoyed a breakfast buffet before sending our divers off to complete their final dive before receiving their Open Water certifications! At 9a.m., we dropped the mooring ball and sailed over to the Indians where we had a coral lesson and participated in a Coral Watch session.

Once our newly certified divers rejoined our boats, we made a delicious lunch of pizza quesadillas, a favorite of the trip so far, and sailed over to Diamond Cay. Diamond is known to be populated with large quantities of green turtles and we are so excited to go on a turtle watch tomorrow!

With our sailing skills becoming more solidified, we moored at Diamond with ease and shuttled to shore for a hike to the bubbly pools, making sure not to touch the poisonous Manchineel trees along the way. The hike led us through red mangroves and opened up to a picturesque tide pool surrounded by large natural boulders. We waded in the water and explored the area before hiking back through the mangroves, out to our boats and preparing a delicious Pasta Bolognas feast for dinner. We concluded our night with boat meeting and relaxing under the stars in preparation for another big day tomorrow.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
