Alpha and Tango 3: Day 5 – The Bight

Waking up anxious to sail after our two days at the Cooper Island Beach Club, we excitedly prepared breakfast and did our pre-departure checks! Sending our divers ashore to complete their confined water dives and begin the next phase of their open water certification, we embarked on our sail to the Bight on Norman Island. Arriving on the ball, boats consolidated and headed to the Indians, while non-divers snorkeled above, the divers trained below! Regrouping back at the Bight after diving and snorkeling, we hiked to an overlook on Norman island where we saw the open ocean on one side and the protected Bight on the other. Finally, after eating dinner, we did a bioluminescent splash, boat meeting, and boat clean. Exhausted, we went to bed, preparing for the next day’s adventures.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
