Alpha and Tango 3: Day 7 – Lee Bay

By wpdev August 1, 2022

A brief rain shower awoke us and we began the day at Trellis Bay around 7:30. Students got breakfast buffet ingredients out and set it on the table for all to enjoy. After a recent provisioning, we were stocked with bagels, yogurt, cereal, bananas, and other goodies.

Divers got their equipment ready and met the dive boat around 8:30, where students parted ways with their other crew mates for a morning dive.

We had a brief journey to Lee Bay on Great Camanoe, via Scrub Island for watering up and some minor boat maintenance. While underway, staff taught an anchoring lesson to prepare for our first anchoring as crew.

Lee Bay greeted us with a calm, empty harbor – perfect for our fleet to begin exciting afternoon activities of snorkeling, Soda Float and tubing. Staff Boat attracted the crowd with music, and all gathered around playing on the various floats, tubes, paddleboards, and using life jackets. Many laughs were shared.

After the afternoon activities, boat showers commenced and dinner prep was started, followed by a boat clean and meeting as part of the daily routine.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
