Today we woke up at Hodges Creek after our first night staying on our sailboats. We had breakfast after a 7am wake up of loaded eggs and bacon. After, Mike spoke to us and we kicked off Alpha 3! We talked to the dive staff and had time to shop in the Sail Caribbean dive shop before learning about parts of the boat and how we use our catamarans. We then had a de-docking lesson, de-docked, and sailed out to the channel. We learned how to raise sails and unfurl the jib as we sailed downwind to Beneurs Bay on Norman Island. We picked up a mooring ball and did a swim test of swimming around the boat and treading water. Afterwards, some of us went snorkeling around while others spent time with their crew mates on the boat and went swimming. Later in the afternoon we had a shower demo for ocean showers, made a pasta dinner, had our first boat clean, and then boat meeting to reminisce on our first day on the water together as a crew!

Today we woke up at 7:30am in Beneurs and had a delicious breakfast. After breakfast clean and pre-departure checks, we headed to Cooper Island Beach Club. Underway, we raised the mainsail and the jib. We taught in-depth lessons on points of sail, tacking, jibing, and knots. Upon arrival, we started lunch prep and had hummus pita wraps around 12:30pm. Later, the kids were given a marine biology lesson on climate change. At 2:00, the Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers went diving. While the divers were away, the rest of the campers did water sports and snorkeling. At 5:00pm, we started boat showers and diner prep. We had burrito bowls for dinner and then started boat clean. At 9:00 pm, we had a quick boat meeting and played a game. Around 9:45 pm, we all went to bed and called it a day!
