Alpha 3 & Tango 3: Day 10 – The Bight

By wpdev August 4, 2021

Day 10

The fleet had a beautiful sail from Cooper Island to The Bight Bay in the morning. On the sail over, the boats reviewed points of sail. Students have been getting ready for their challenge day in a couple of days. It will be a day where the Captian and Mates sit back and have the students completely run the show. The Bight Bay is off of Norman Island. Students were able to go for a snorkel, zip around on the tube and hang out on other boats in the early afternoon. After lunch, the student went ashore and hiked to an old helicopter pad. Once at the helipad, the group played some favorite Sail Caribbean games such as Oh Captain My Captain and Where the Wind Blows.

To wrap up the day, students had time to relax on their boats before prepping dinner, cleaning and boat meetings. Many of our boats have been setting up hammocks on the bow and calling over to other boats to hang out. The new challenge has been trying to run across the paddleboard without falling in the water.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
