Alpha 4, Charlie 3, Foxtrot 3 & Sierra 3: Day 6 – Dock Dares

Day 6

At 9 am the staff boat announced that the boats would be competing in a series of fun challenges throughout the morning. The first set of tasks included wearing silly hats, making breakfast for the staff boat and chugging a Nalgene of water. The second set included dressing up their captain and mates, solving riddles and taking boat selfies. Finally, the boats had to put as many life jackets as they could on one student and make their boats sparkling clean.

The competition was fierce and the students were getting really into the challenges. Moet and Judges Chambers started stealing things from other boats to try and sabotage the other teams. Big T had to put their student wearing all of the life jackets in a wheel barrel since they physically could not walk down the dock. Hulk dressed their captain and mates in the best outfits that we have seen all summer!

After the competition concluded, the boats were able to explore the rest of the marina and have some time at the shops. Many of the students started to make friends on different boats. It was fun to have all of the boats docked together so students could hop from one boat to the next. At 3:30 pm the students made calls home and were able to take real showers before prepping for a big dinner of lasagna.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
