The Bravo and Charlie fleet had an early morning wake up because Rescue Divers began working towards their certification! The rest of the crews got themselves ready for the day and were eager to set sails to Salt Island.

Once on anchor at Salt, our Advanced Open Water divers got ready for both their deep and wreck dives at the famous Wreck of the Rhone! Students who didn’t dive headed to shore for a vertical hike to the summit of the island, past the island’s accredited salt ponds where they stood aghast at their earned vista while listening to the history of the island.

After spending the rest of the time onshore searching for coconuts and treasure, all divers returned for dinner. Tonight, we all had a quick dinner because our Advanced Open Water divers got to go on a night dive back at the Rhone! The divers saw cool sea creatures such as lobster, puffer fish, and an eel! Once everyone returned to their home boats they got to relax after a long day of diving and prepare to go to Trellis Bay tomorrow for the Fourth of July!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
