Today, we up-anchored at Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda and got to sleep in a little while our Captain and Mate motored us to Saba Rock on the other side of Virgin Gorda. We were especially excited to get to our mooring ball at Saba and get over to the Bitter End Yacht Club!

We had a full day on shore and on the water at the yacht club. Everyone got to sail smaller boats like 420’s and Hobie cats. We raced each other and got to show off all our sailing skills that we’ve been learning. We also got to sign up for water skiing, wake boarding, and tubing on paparazzi.

Between activities, we had time to lounge by the beach in hammocks, play pool, and get smoothies and snacks at the restaurant. The local shops were fun to check out and we got some pretty cool souvenirs. Around 5p.m., we headed back to our boats to shower and dance. Everyone got dressed up for a nice dinner on shore at Saba Rock. We ate cheeseburgers, chicken wings, jerked chicken sandwiches, or fish tacos. They also had fantastic frozen drinks and cold sodas. We were very excited to have dinner served to us and get to dress up in nice clothes. After dinner, we headed back to our boat to finish our chores for the day and have a nice boat meeting. We were all pretty wiped out after that and went to sleep thinking about our great shore day at the Bitter End Yacht Club.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
