Day 10

Today was another stupendous day on the water. We started the day with an early morning motor from Cooper Island to The Bight on Norman Island. Once we arrived the kids made breakfast and prepared to go diving. The kids getting their open water continued on their confined water skills and went on their first open water dive! The advanced kids continued on their specialty dives.

For everyone who wasn’t diving, we went on a beautiful snorkel at the infamous Indians. We saw tons of fish and coral colonies. Due to the number of kids we were able to mix boats and socialize with other kids! Once we were back on the ball at the bite, we started lunch prep and the divers came back for their lunch break.

We were able to hear all about their dives and share stories. Once we finished lunch, the divers went back to shore to continue diving and everyone else embarked on the helipad hike. It was a hot but amazing hike up to the helipad where we played games and got to know everyone. Following the hike, kids had shore time where they could swim, sail the colgate, and do water sports. Once the afternoon divers were finished everyone went back to boats and began showers and dinner prep. We then all had a dinner together as a boat and reflected on the funniest moments from the day. We ended the night with a dance party and had a quiet night on board.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
