This morning, we had an early wake-up and started our day at Salt Island. After breakfast, our Rescue Divers headed over to Cooper Island again in order to continue their Emergency First Responder and Rescue Diver certification course. Everyone else headed to shore for a morning hike and got to explore Salt Island and see the salt ponds! After our time on shore, we headed back to our boats and had some time to do water-sports — especially our favorite tube Popparazzi!

We regrouped at lunch time to enjoy a delicious meal together and began our pre-departure checks and navigation plotting to head towards Trellis Bay on Beef Island for the afternoon. We up-anchored and set our sails towards our destination, practicing our maneuvers as we played with the wind in the Sir Francis Drake channel.

We secured ourselves on mooring balls at Trellis Bay and then giddily went ashore where we had the opportunity to explore Aragorn’s Studio, a local art studio and workshop. After our time on shore, we headed back to our boats, showered, and made a delicious dinner of teriyaki chicken stir fry. After our nightly boat meeting, we enjoyed a simple sweet night on board, embracing the sounds of the rocking boats of the mooring field and the chitter chatter of enthusiastic friends powering down for the evening.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
