Today, the Chavo program would spend the entire day at Bitter End Yacht Club. Students began the day with a late breakfast before heading to shore. Once they got to shore, all of our students went on a hike around Bitter End and got a beautiful view of the North Sound and Saba Rock.

Once they returned to base from the hike, students made their way towards the Crawl Pub for some lunch of pizza, salad, or burgers. When lunch was over students got to go out into the channel and try out some water sports! With some practice, a bunch of our students got up on the wakeboard for the first time! If students weren’t on watersports, they were practicing their small boat sailing skills on either 420’s or Hobie Cats.

After an exciting day on shore, everyone returned to their home boats for some chill time and jump off their boats and swim around. The crew of Meursault spent some time playing king of the hill off of their transom too. Students also got to swim to Prickly Pear Island to learn about mangrove trees. After the lesson, students got to shower and prepare a delicious meal. It was a quiet night on board because students went to bed excited to travel to the Dog Islands the next morning and then to Marina Cay!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
