Chalpha Day 12

By wpdev August 17, 2014

Brought to you by the crew of JP.

Today, we woke up to a stormy morning. The Charlie students and divers from Alpha went on the last dive of the summer! Jorge went on his first dive as a certified scuba diver and Robby was able to descend to 98 feet! The Charlie divers finished up their certifications and they couldn’t have been more proud. Maddie and Tyler got their digital underwater photography certification and Daniel got his Nitrox certification!
Parker learned how to tie new knots as we set sail on the race against the rest of the fleet. Alec took the helm and helped sail us to victory! It was a close race and it came down to whoever tied the snub line first.

Luckily, we are able to beat JP just by a hair!
Once we anchored, Emily and Angelica went for a quick swim before dinner and saw a stingray! After a delicious dinner, we did a quick lesson on bioluminescence and got to get in the water to see it light up as we splashed around! We then took some quick showers before reflecting on the program as a whole, as this is our last night on the water.
We have had a great time here at Sail Caribbean, and, as we look at the stars, we cannot wait to see what the future will bring us!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
