Today, Harry was our skipper of the day, Jerko was our navigator and Louisa was the mate. We woke up at 7:30a.m. and had french toast. After breakfast, we de-threaded and set sail for Nanny Cay Marina, which was a broad reach sail the whole way. While underway, we learned about right of way, and how ferries and other commercial vessels have right of way over us. We also learned how to dock the boat, in preparation for sailing into the marina. Harry did a great job of controlling the boat in these difficult circumstances and the crew did really well at focusing to get the boat on the finger pier safely.

After lunch, Chloe, Sophia and Harry went diving to continue their Open Water certification and finally finished their confined water dives! Louisa, James and Jerko went fun diving at the wreck of a boat called “Fearless”, which is a small wreck near Great Harbor. Meanwhile, Selena, Nicole, Cailey and Spencer went to the beach at Nanny Cay, and also to the pool, and later played one of our favorite games, Ninja.

We all returned to the boat before dinner and got to use the amazing Nanny Cay land showers. We then had chicken teriyaki and rice for dinner and followed the meal with a boat meeting. Today, our crew did a great job of working as a team while docking. Our miracle moment was dinner, docking and real showers!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
