The crew of Delta had a very relaxing morning at the Bight before heading to Village Cay! Village Cay Marina is located on Tortola on the side that faces Cooper, Salt, Peter, and Norman. Our Open Water divers finished up breakfast and loaded their gear into the dinghy before heading out on the dive boat. Once the dive boat was on their way, it was time for pre-departure checks and for everyone to get into positions to drop the ball.

Once everyone was back into the channel, sails were raised and navigators pointed the crew in the direction of Village Cay. When the crew was near to their voyage’s plotted destination, they reviewed docking their vessels because this will be the first docking of program! Both crews worked very hard together to safely secure their vessels in their determined slips at Village Cay Marina.

Once lines were fast and boats were clean, the crew got to check out the marina and head to the local grocery store for some snacks. We spent the rest of the night mingling among the Bravo, Charlie, Foxtrot, and Sierra boats because we will soon be separating from their fleet to head down island!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
