Early Alpha Day 11: Ashore at the Bitter End!

By wpdev June 18, 2014

It was a nice and early morning in the North Sound! After a buffet breakfast, we headed ashore to the Bitter End Yacht Club. Ethan, Kayla and Alec felt like they were right at home.

We got situated under the gazebo and had a nice marine biology lesson about harmful sea life. It was truly interesting and changed everyone’s perspective on the marine environment as well as a new found respect for sea creatures.

We then all split off and went to see what the Bitter End had to offer.

Everyone was able to take out some hobies (small catamarans), lasers (small monohull sailboats), and a windsurfer.

Perry also brought paparazzi, the incredible red tube for three, out for its first real spin of the year! It was super fun getting a chance to challenge the inflatable toy.

After spending over seven hours on shore, we went back to boats to have some showers and prepare for our Chili Cook-off! We had to create a theme and come up with the best flavor possible. Monet’s chili was by far the best chili with Alec, Ethan and Grayson as the best chefs.

After some awesome chili, we cleaned the boat and had a boat meeting where we completed our letters to self, a letter we write that will be sent to use a few months from now! We then prepared for a nice and relaxing sleep.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
