Excitement was in the air this morning as we awoke for our last full day of program! The time really flew by and no one could believe that it had already been three weeks. Today was an early morning as we had to motor to The Baths to do our famous hikel (hike and snorkel) through the park. Once all boats were on the ball, we swam towards shore to start the snorkel! We got to see a lot of cool fish and take some cool underwater photos on Ebba’s, our dive coordinator, GoPro.

Once everyone made it through the snorkel, we started our hiking section through The Baths. Nat, our program director, led us through a history lesson on the formation of The Baths and discussed tectonic plate movements and magma flow to create the hollow formations that we saw. So cool!

We finished our adventure at The Baths with boatos (boat photos) and a program photo with all four of our program/ all boats included! Once that was finished, we all headed back to boats to drop the ball and begin our final sail back to our home base at Hodges Creek Marina. It was so bittersweet to pull into our final docking together.

After we were all back together on the dock, we enjoyed a hot meal of ribs, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and scalloped potatoes, with a surprise visit from an ice cream truck for dessert! Dinner was amazing and we followed it up with our end-of-program slideshow! Everyone got to see all of the pictures that were taken during our program and see all of the friends up there as well. How fun!!

After that, we all headed back to boats for our final power down together before our very early morning to catch our flights and transportation home! All the staff have loved getting to know all of our campers this session and hope to see everyone again next year!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
