Follow Our Journey! Bravo, Charlie, Foxtrot, & Sierra 1- Day 4
Written by Carolyn G., mate on Dreamer
It was another adventure-filled and action-packed day here at Sail Carribean! We started day 4 with smiles, as we slept in until 7:30 and up anchored from Savannah. After we successfully raised sails at the direction of skipper-of-the-day, Clare, we began our day traveling to Leverick Bay where we learned points of sail and how to tack along the way. Because we travel as a fleet, some good-spirited racing between boats made the longer sail extra interesting!
After singing along and dancing to a “good vibes 70’s playlist” on Spotify, the crew arrived and was on the ball at Leverick Bay. Foxtrot campers had the chance to spend the afternoon with Green VI at the eco-park where they learned about recycling and sustainability on the islands while trying delicious tropical fruit. The campers returned with vivid stories of Sweet Ice Willie their favorite DJ/taxi driver.
While the Foxtrot crew was jamming out with Sweet Ice Willie and helping sort recycling, the rest of the fleet had a blast inter-tubing, making new friends from other boats, and enjoying the beautiful scenery/water at Leverick Bay. Wakeboarding was also a big hit and a few campers could get up on their first tries. Super cool!
After a delicious dinner of hotdogs and chicken nuggets, the crew played a fun game of getting to know your counselors before heading to bed. It was a day of learning, laughter, friendships, and sunshine! The crew fell asleep excited for the next adventure!
