Follow Our Journey! Delta 2 – Days 1-3
Written by Christina C., Social Media & Mate
Nosy Be flew out of Hodges Creek Marina Tuesday morning and towards White Bay on Guana Island with the sail up and jib thriving.Â
When we arrived, the water was an otherworldly teal and the campers excitedly backflipped and somersaulted into the gentle waves. We snorkeled around the boat and listened to music or read in the shade of the boom, then had supper to the backdrop of a gorgeous orange sunset.Â
The next morning, we sailed to Cooper’s, where open water divers and discovery divers began their training, and fun divers explored the Rhone. While we were making dinner in the evening, about half the boat threw an extraordinary dance party in the rain, complete with synchronized coordination. We finished up the day with a boat meeting that included several rounds of the game “Psychiatrist” where someone leaves the room and the rest of the group makes up a rule for the other person to guess.
Early Thursday morning, Open Water divers began a full day of diving practice at the calm, sandy beach of Cooper’s Bay. Other campers enjoyed water sports, then all gathered on shore for ice cream and to enjoy the shade of palm trees and thatched roof umbrellas in the sand.Â
The campers prepared a supper of macaroni and cheese and invited some of their friends on the staff boat, program director Nat and Marine Science coordinator Janaye, over for supper. It’s been a packed few days, and we’ll be moving on to Soper’s in the morning!
