Everyone woke up this morning bright and early to eat a delicious breakfast and get some of our divers ready to go! The divers would be working on their certifications while the rest of the fleet had an awesome turtle lesson delivered by Gray, the Foxtrot & Sierra Program Director! After the lesson, the students quickly hopped in the water to officially do some turtling! Soon after, Gray caught a turtle and students took turns collecting all of the measurements and detailed descriptions of the animal, getting up close and personal with a Green Sea Turtle.

After some more turtling, it was time to drop the anchor and head to Dead Man’s Bay for the evening. The divers returned and the afternoon was set aside for another round of turtling, giving the divers a chance to share the action. With not as much luck in the second session, crews ultimately reconvened back on their home boats to spend time with each other until it was time for showers and dinner preparation

After the long day of epic turtle interactions, it was time for boat meeting, followed by power down until the nearly full moon!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
