Yesterday, as most days are on the water here, was awesome! We started the morning off with a pancake breakfast. Then, we did our lunch preparation early in order to save ourselves the time underway from a longer voyage. After we completed pre-departure checks, we set sail from Marina Cay to circumnavigate Guana Island! Our skipper of the day lead us around the islands and beautiful scenery in the BVI. We hit a wind shadow at White Bay but made good time around the northeast side of the island.

All of the crew helped to trim the main and jib sails to harness any available wind. We dropped anchor at Long Bay on Beef Island quickly and efficiently. We filled our bellies with lunch of pesto pasta salad and were off to the beach to hang out with the students of YEP (the local Youth Empowerment Program) for the afternoon. We played volleyball, sailed PICOs, tubed, swam and played around at the lively destination. It was so fun!

When the sun began to make its slow descent, we all took dinghy rides back to our home boats. We showered and all pitched in to make the boat chicken with rice. In the evening, we had our boat meeting and afterwards had some free time to play card games and/or read before power down.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
