Boat: Samba
Skipper: Ali
Navigator: Wagner
Mate: Carter
Lee Bay to Bitter End Yacht Club
We woke up in Lee Bay today to the smell of delicious chocolate chip pancakes made by the Top Chef’s Carter and Meredith. All divers, including Kate, left at 7:50 to go for our first Advanced Open Water dive. We went to a dive spot called Tip of Scrub. It was pretty cool to see the change in colors at 80 feet deep. We went to another dive spot after for Fish ID which was right in Lee Bay.
After diving we got back to the boat and Annabelle and Lindsey made Mac n’ Cheese for lunch. After lunch, we de-anchored from Lee Bay and set sail towards the Bitter End Yacht Club. Our crew did a great job putting up the sail and setting the jib. As we sailed around the Dog Islands, we hit the outskirts of a squall. It was only a little rain and some wind.
We docked at Saba Rock to get some water for the boat. Docking was kind of hard because the wind was being difficult and not cooperating with us. We ended up staying at Saba rock and picking up a mooring ball there. The crew did an awesome job of communicating which way to go because the wind kept moving the boat. They remained calm and patient which helped our skipper Ali out a lot.
We ferried the dingus to shore for an afternoon hike along Guy’s Trail at the Bitter end and took a ton of selfies!

Alexis and Quinton did an awesome job making curried chicken and rice for dinner. Marisa’s peanut sauce was super yummy too. After dinner we went to shore and hung out for about an hour and a half. All around a good day! Also Wagner and Joe from the Bronx finally rap battled and Joe crushed Wagner who was in his neon pink sweater.
Today our crew did a great job of: communicating and helping each other out.”

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
