Foxtrot/Sierra 1 Day 5

By wpdev June 26, 2014
We started day 5 off right with French Toast with peanut butter and nutella. After breakfast we dropped our mooring ball, got a tacking lesson from the Captain and raised our main sail for the first time! We cruised up to Cooper Island where the students picked up a mooring ball with no help from the Captain or Mate. After lunch everyone grabbed their mask, snorkel, and fins for an afternoon of diving. All the divers got their first real glimpse into the underwater world. Dinner was cooked by the Captain and Mate tonight so the students could relax after their dive. Everyone pitched in after dinner to clean the entire boat. Once the boat was clean, Kate, our Marine Biology Coordinator, gave a marine biology lesson on fisheries! As usual, the night ended with a boat meeting and cookies. Another great day down here in the BVI!!

Photos will follow. We are having some technical difficulties this afternoon and will endeavour to post them as soon as possible.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
