We all went to bed last night with the foreboding that in the morning three of our crew were leaving to return home. When we woke up, music was playing, we were all laughing and joking around, and all seemed the same as every other day. We had a nice breakfast together, then two of the crew left to head to the ferry and one left us once we arrived back at Hodges Creek Marina to head to the Beef Island Airport. The rest of the crew would be staying on to hop onto the staff internship portion of their summer.

Goodbyes are always sad, but we’ve discussed you can’t dwell on the saying goodbye. You have to look forward to seeing each other again in the future. To those of you who are at home now, we miss you already and wish you all the best!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
