We enjoyed a relaxing sleep in today, until 8:30a.m. We then had a chance to go to the shops one more time before we left docks. Our Tango crew members are pros at de-docking their boat by this day on program – it went incredibly well!

We had plenty of time for the sail over to Mountain Point. Vieques itself has great cruising speed and we had some excellent winds for today’s voyage. During the sail, we learned about man-over-boards scenarios and had a practice drill picking up a man over board, only in the scenario it was two fenders tied together. As entertaining as it sounds, it is a very serious drill and everyone needs to know how to deal with that situation should it arise. We later anchored at Mountain Point for the evening. We are getting better at anchoring with practice!

The Tango crew spent the afternoon hanging out on the boat and swimming. Dinner was Chili Cookoff! We worked together to make our homemade chili recipe, and it turned out fantastic. The chili contest judges came around to our boat and it was so funny to enjoy their company along with so many laughs brought on by their judging.

After our guests left, we devoured our chili meal. It was such a great day, and we are all looking forward to tomorrow for the Fourth of July and Race day!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
