We woke up at Scrub Island Resort after a restful night on docks and an extra hour to sleep in! The crew prepared a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast to fill us up for an exciting morning of shore time and our imminent departure. On shore, the crew visited the market and boutiques as well as the pool, beach, ocean trampoline, and water slide!

After a fun morning ashore, the crew returned to the boat for pre-departure checks and to create a de-docking plan. With the skipper of the day at the helm, the crew cast off lines and successfully made their way out of the marina and into the channel where we raised our sails and set a course towards our next destination, Leverick Bay.

Everyone reviewed their upwind sailing knowledge and ate a lunch of Mac n’ Cheese underway. As we cruised along, the entire crew got to see a dolphin (!) as it splashed and played in the wake of our boat! Soon, we found ourselves at Leverick Bay ready to pick up a mooring ball for the night.

After showers, the crew prepared a delicious dinner of pasta bolognese for the entire boat. At boat meeting, we all set goals for ourselves and the group as a whole, looking at long term and short term progress that we would like to make.

After an incredible day filled with fun and sailing, everyone was ready to retire to their sleeping spots and spend the night preparing for the adventure tomorrow will bring!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
