Tango Day 5: Epic Watersporting

By wpdev July 18, 2014

The Tango crew woke up bright and early today at Cooper Island eager to set sail for the next stop of the trip. Jake, our navigator of the day, brought out our nautical chart and briefed the skipper and crew on the journey ahead of them.  Zane took the helm as Mazurka dropped the ball and headed West for the south side of Peter Island.

The destination for the day was Key Point, a delightfully quiet anchorage that the Tango, Foxtrot, and Sierra programs got to enjoy all to themselves for the day. Once on anchor, the Open Water diving students set out for their first non-confined-water dive while the rest of the crew went for a snorkel and tried out some watersports.  Missy stood up on the wakeboard on just her second attempt!  Max and Zane gave the tube a go and had some epic rides and even more phenomenal wipeouts.

Later, the whole crew came together as Claire and Jeremy prepared a Hawaiian pineapple chicken and rice feast for dinner. After everyone had their fill, the students powered down for a boat meeting and then rested up for the day ahead.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
