Bravo 1 & Charlie 1 2018 Adventures Day 14 – The Ancient Reef Of Anegada

The crew arose bright and early this morning in order to prepare for the long sail up to Anegada. After a delicious sunrise breakfast just off of Mountain Point, we immediately got started on pre-departure checks, dropped the ball, raised sails and pointed towards the ancient reef that is now Anegada.
Underway, the crew maintained a single point of sail and then lowered sails just before entering the treacherously shallow waters surrounding the island. After navigating through the meticulously placed channel markers while exercising extreme caution, we made it into the mooring field and picked up a ball on the first try despite the shallow waters and heavy winds.
After a quick lunch, we hopped in the dinghies and began shuttling to shore and immediately loaded up in trucks and drove over to the other side of the island to a beach called Cow Wreck Beach where the entire fleet spent the rest of the afternoon swimming, playing games, wandering around the shops, eating French fries and soaking up the sun on solid ground. It was a much needed break from our quarters on board and a great opportunity to socialize with some of the other people on different programs!
At around 4:30p.m., we all loaded up in the trucks and made our way back to the dinghy dock and then back to boats for showers and dinner prep. We all had a delicious dinner of veggie stir fry and ended the night with a quick boat clean and scary stories before getting to bed in order to prepare for Challenge Day tomorrow!
