We all started the day bright and early at Cane Garden Bay and gobbled down some breakfast before immediately launching into pre-departure checks before dropping our mooring balls and heading to Trellis Bay! We had a smooth sail around the north side of Tortola, through the Guana Channel and into Trellis Bay followed by a successful pick up of a mooring ball despite the characteristically windy conditions in Trellis Bay.

Once on the ball, we all hopped into the water for a snorkel clean and swam around the mooring field collecting trash and treasures. After a nice dip and community service activity, we shuttled to shore and spent the afternoon hanging out by the water, visiting the shops and eating snacks while some students loaded up in trucks and got a new perspective of Tortola as they toured around the island on land!

Once everyone returned, we loaded up and made our way back to boats for boat showers and dinner prep! After a delicious dinner of chicken, eggplant, beans, broccoli, mushrooms and rice, we ended the night with a boat meeting and retired to bed with full stomachs and tired eyes ready to rest up before another full day here in the BVIs!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
