After a fun night celebrating the Fourth of July, the Bravo and Charlie fleet had a nice lie in before taking on the day. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast of French toast before everyone went to shore at Trellis Bay for beach and shop time. Some also spent the morning going on a truck tour of our beautiful home island of Tortola, getting to see more of the beauty of the BVIs from a new perspective.

Following lunch, we dropped our mooring balls and headed to Deadman’s Bay on Peter Island. Our program’s Challenge day is fast approaching and it is clear that the crew is taking over the boat more and more as the days pass. Today’s sail showed just how much everyone has learned in these short two weeks.

After a spectacular downwind sail across the Sir Francis Drake Channel, everyone anchored and enjoyed some time just hanging out and swimming around at the beach. While swimming, numerous stingrays and turtles were spotted. Some even saw a spotted eagle ray breach the water a few times! The rest of the night was spent relaxing on our home boats, getting to know each other even more, under the stars and the cloaked feeling of wonder and continuous thrill.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
