Mountain Point to Marina Cay

Timmy was the skipper of the day and was at the helm for the up anchor from beautiful Mountain Point on Virgin Gorda. Bennett took the helm for part of the sail, and then Timmy returned to the helm for the mooring ball pickup at Marina Cay. Once at Marina, James and Liz coordinated a cannon ball contest for the fleet.

In the afternoon, Claire participated in a knowledge development for her Rescue Diver course with Bennett and several students from the other boats. Shane went tubing and enjoyed a relaxing sail on Sail Caribbean’s Colgate 26, Opal Bella, with Jaden. Anne checked off another requirement for her Dive Master professional certification be assisting on a dive with Discover Scuba Divers.

Before showers, the entire boat got in the water for a surprise soda float, which Liz and Claire especially enjoyed. After a dinner of barbecue pineapple chicken, James and Jaeden joined our ASA instructor, Keith, for an evening navigation lesson before Jaeden took his Basic Keelboat test to complete his certification.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
