The crew of Galilee awoke early today for a morning race in the North Sound before heading out to Anegada. Oliver was our skipper of the day and helmed for us to cross the starting line. Everyone got chance to helm during our windward and leeward race. Mitchell carried the boat across the finish line victoriously! After an impressive photo opportunity where we each sported the letters of our boat G-A-L-I-L-E-E on our life jackets, we set a heading toward Anegada and enjoyed a gorgeous sail with Braeden navigating and holding a straight course.

Once we made our way through the very shallow channel and entered the mooring field at Anegada, Karina and Thomas helped pick up a mooring ball successfully on the first try!

We enjoyed lunch and headed to shore to spend a relaxing afternoon at Loblolly Bay. Braeden buried himself in the sand and Karina and Amanda had a nice walk along the long, sandy beach. Dylan really enjoyed playing frisbee and beach volleyball with Braeden, Thomas, Amanda, Mia, and many other students and staff. Everyone enjoyed ice cream and other treats while they relaxed for a few hours at the picturesque beach.

After returning to the boats, Thomas had fun with bucket showers off of the transom while Mia and Michael prepared a delicious chicken dinner. In the evening, everyone played cards before boat meeting and bed.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
