The Bight, Norman Island to Nanny Cay Marina

Today, the crew awoke to a beautiful morning at The Bight. Anne continued to work towards her Divemaster with an early start and a dive with the Foxtrot and Sierra fleets.  After breakfast, the boat was prepped and Bennett, as skipper of the day, helmed the boat and organized the crew for the sail.  Jaden took the helm for parts of the sail in the comfort of his home waters. James also helped during the sail, practicing tacking and jibing. Timmy checked off knots and tacking underway to work towards his Bosun sailing certification. After Bennett’s awesome docking at Nanny, James prepared a lunch of delicious pizza bagels for the crew.

After lunch, the divers enjoyed an afternoon underwater. Liz completed her Open Water scuba certification today! Bennett did a deep dive and cracked an egg at 75ft to demonstrate the effect of water pressure at depth. Timmy did a fun dive today and saw a HUGE moray eel! Shane also saw the giant eel as well as a barracuda and squid. Claire took amazing photos on her dive and enjoyed working towards her wreck specialty on the wreck of the Rhone. Anne rejoined the crew for the afternoon dive. After a festive Caribbean chicken dinner, the crew enjoyed the evening ice cream social with the Chavo fleet and the Soxtrot fleet.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
