Chalpha Day 8

Brought to you by Vivaldi.

Today was Challenge Day! We started off the day with Matt, Mary, and Grace attending a quick briefing for the day from Mark and Alan, including the daily schedule and our final destination information of Savannah Bay. Anna and Meghan made an outstanding breakfast off bacon and eggs! After breakfast, Greg, Hadyn, Mary, Matt, and Anna took two morning dives. We saw squid, lobsters, and even a seahorse! While diving, Lindsay, Aidan, and Grace hung-out at JP for a while and Meghan went sailing on Opal Bella. Once we all came back from diving, we found out that JP pranked us by placing full cups of water upside-down on our companionway!
At 2:30, we took up our anchor and set our sails for Savannah Bay. Our sail on Challenge Day went amazingly and we were the first boat to arrive at the final destination. After showers, we prepared for the Chili Cook-off. We themed our boat as The Lion King. Not only did we give the “Chileans” a great show with a canopy of sheets and scenes from The Lion Ling but we also made an outstanding chili, thanks to Greg and Anna. It was another amazing day at Sail Caribbean!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
