Our crew had ta relaxing morning to get ready to travel to Anegada! Anegada is an island located north of the channel; it is the third largest barrier reef in the world! By 9:00a.m., both vessels had their anchors up and headed out of the channel. After a 3 hour sail, we arrived safely in the mooring field at Anegada.

We headed to shore to eat our lunch of Caesar wraps at the Anegada Reef Hotel. Afterwards, we got into trucks and headed for a tour around the island. We got to see places such as the Settlement and the flamingo lookout point! We then headed to Cow Wreck beach to go swimming, snorkeling, and then checked out the souvenir shop. After the beach, we headed to Loblolly Bay to check out the beautiful views of open ocean.

When we headed back to our boats, students started preparing for a cheesy meatball cook off! Students needed to prepare the dinner, a theme, and the presentation of their dish. For Fidji, their theme was America and their presentation was a matouk’s glaze with meatballs, hummus, and pita bread. For Zibal, their theme was the Zibal castle and the king himself served their meatball dish. Our special guest judges loved both dishes and had such a great time aboard both boats. Students will find out the winner of the cook off on the last night of program! Once our guests left, it was time to unwind and prepare for the next day.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
