We awoke in St Kitts to pancakes and bacon then prepared to meet our awesome tour guide Percy. At 10:30 Percy and his assistant Jason arrived at the marina to pick us up for our tour of St Kitts.

Our first stop was in the jungle for a brief hike around the Wingfield plantation area. We hiked into the jungle and everyone swung on vines, explored the jungle, and got to listen to Percy’s wisdom. At around 1:00 we remounted our vans and headed for the brimstone hill fortress.

Our two vans climbed the steep hill and there were some exciting monkey sightings on the climb up. The views from the old fort on a hill were stunning and the clear weather allowed all of us to see to Nevis and St. Eustatius. We explored the fort and learned of its amazing history while also getting some tasty snacks at the canteen that overlooked the Caribbean Sea. We then left for a bus ride to Reggae beach where everyone got to swim, eat, and shop. After an hour there everyone headed back to boats for showers, dinner, and a quiet night on boats.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
