Today, our crews woke up to the beautiful view of St. Barth’s. For breakfast, everyone walked into town to a local bakery for some French cuisine. With full bellies, everyone got ready to get off the docks and make our way to St. Kitt’s, which would be about an 8 hour sail away!

Once lines were thrown and sails were up, everyone hung out in the cockpit and used their seasoned skills to navigate to our destination. We spent most of the day tacking towards our new location and working on our sail trim to be as efficient as possible. As St. Kitt’s came into view, our students could not believe how beautiful the island was.

As we started inching closer, the excitement grew to the point that the crew could barely sit down as we were approaching the channel. St. Kitt’s is another docking, but what is unique about this one is that Zanzibar would be connected to the dock while Fidji would need to raft up against Zanzibar. Each docking went very smoothly with our students fully in charge. We couldn’t have been more proud as staff members.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out at the dock and checking out a local souvenir shop. At boat meeting, students were informed of all the exciting adventures planned for them tomorrow!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
