This morning, our crews awoke with the best views so far of program — the views of Saba. Our divers got ready for diving while everyone else prepared to head to shore! Our divers got to go on a two tank dive at Saba where they saw a nurse shark, a sting ray, 3 turtles, and a ton cool marine life!

Our non-divers drove to the windward side of the island to a village located on the other side of Saba. Here, students  checked out the Sea Saba dive shop and got the opportunity to go to Jobean‘s local studio. Jobean is a local glass-making shop owner who creates glass art that is similar to those made in Venice. Jobean gave all of our students the opportunity to make their own glass jewelry, and every student could not have been more thrilled.

Once the divers were finished and completed with their log books, they headed to shore to check out the windward side as well. Sea Saba swapped out their dive gear and our non-divers  switched places to go snorkeling for the afternoon! Our divers then had the chance to go see JoBean themselves and make their own beads before meeting back up with the rest of the group.

The rest of the evening was spent attaching our beads to necklaces and bracelets and mentally preparing for the hike to Mount Scenery in the coming day!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
