Early Alpha 2018 Adventures Day 11 – Snorkeling The Chimneys!

Alpha fleet had an early morning that began with a motor from Leverick Bay to the Dogs Islands where divers met the Sail Caribbean Divers dive boat and were off for two fun dives while snorkelers hopped into the water and snorkeled the “chimneys”! Located northwest of Great Dog, the chimneys is a very popular diving site, having got its name from the two rocky formations that come together forming a gap that resembles a chimney.
Following the early morning snorkel and dive, divers were picked up at Cooper Island and voyaged to Dead Man’s Bay while non-divers sailed from the Dogs to Dead Mans on catamarans with Sierra and Foxtrot fleet. Underway, both divers and non divers enjoyed a yummy lunch o f chicken Caesar wraps.
Upon arrival, Alpha fleet anchored in the crystal blue waters, swam ashore for a walk on the beach. We socialized with students on other boats, water-sported and snorkeled the bay into the early evening. It was an activity-filled afternoon under the sun among friends we’ve become so close with.
The students habitually later prepared another delicious dinner: broccoli marinara! We all have been stepping into the master chef in the galley role with ease. No one had trouble falling asleep after such a full day on the water and under the Caribbean sun.
