Early Alpha 2015 – Day 13

I can’t believe today is our last day out on the water! We woke up bright and early to head over to the  Baths, a natural park and reservation in the British Virgin Islands. After breakfast, we went to shore to hike the natural trail and then snorkel back to our boats. Once we left the baths, we went to Cooper Island where we picked up a mooring ball just so that we could do some cleaning before the end of program.

We then left and went to Hodges Creek Marina, where Sail Caribbean is based out of, so that we could dock and get ourselves to some freshwater showers. May, Ellie, Julie, Caroline, and Virginia couldn’t be more excited for freshwater showers, except that we had to clean the boat first. Lorenzo and Sebastian guided the cleaning effort on Xeres, while Ashley and Lizzie took the helm on Galilee. On Rioja, everyone was on super-cleaning duty, especially Grayson and Max!!

After we finished cleaning, we got to shower and get our phones back for a little while. Then we had a delicious dinner of traditional west indian Roti and after that it was time for us to have our final boat meeting, where we got to learn about writing Plane Letters. We spent the rest of the evening writing notes to each other to be read on the plane, and dreading the morning where we’d have to wake up and leave this beautiful place!
