Early Alpha 2015 – Day 14

written by Social Media Coordinator, Ryan Smith, and Program Director, Phil Yudin

Departure day has come and gone, and with that, this season’s Early Alpha program is over. The day went too fast to feel worthy of summarizing the true extent of fun and  we have had. With some kids departing before the sun even comes up, and the rest leaving only a few hours after, Sail Caribbean’s boats already feel too still, quiet and empty of youthful spirit.

Early Alpha Students: Thanks for making my first program as a director such a smooth ride, and thanks from all our staff for the memories, laughs, and new dance moves. You’ve grown incredibly over the last 14 days, and I hope that you can each carry forward the lessons you’ve learned into your lives back at home. Stay in touch, with us and with each other, and we hope to see you again in the future.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
